This video was shot from Grand Ferry Park, near the Williamsburg Bridge, in Brooklyn, by Mike Ballou, and shows the collapse of the World Trade Center towers, on the morning of #September11 2001. The collapse of the Twin Towers on 9/11 was caused by a combination of aircraft impact damage and intense, multi-floor fires that weakened the steel structure, leading to a progressive, unstoppable chain reaction of floor failures and a total structural collapse. The planes severed support columns and dislodged fireproofing, while the burning jet fuel ignited office materials, causing steel to sag, floors to pull inward, and ultimately the buildings to fall under their own immense weight. The time between the collapse of the two Twin Towers was 29 minutes. The South Tower collapsed first at 9:59 a.m. and the North Tower followed at 10:28 a.m. #neverforget

This is a video taken by Ben Riesman from Park Row, showing the northeast corner of the South Tower. The video zooms in at this moment and shows the floors engulfed in flames from the impact of the second tower, before it collapsed. At 00:37 in the video, inward bending of perimeter columns at the north and east face progresses further. Top third of the South Tower begins to lean eastward and fall, total collapse starts. The aircraft, a Boeing 767, struck the building between the 77th and 85th floors. The impact caused the South Tower to collapse 56 minutes later at 9:59 a.m. United Airlines Flight 175 carried 65 people on September 11, 2001, including 56 passengers (five of whom were hijackers) and nine crew members. Among the passengers, there were 50 Americans, as well as individuals from Germany, the UK, Iran, Israel, Indonesia, Ireland, and Canada. All passengers and crew died when the plane was deliberately crashed into the South Tower of the World Trade Center.
