Tom Holland has transformed into Baki Hanma for the most brutal live action martial arts movie Hollywood has attempted yet and brought the underground fighting style of the Baki Manga to the visceral live-action reality in which these fighters are trained to take as much punishment as they can give. Tom Holland went through intense training to portray Baki's transformation from a teenager determined to be strong enough to beat his father to a man with the physical appearance of a ripped body and a wealth of experience in martial arts, all of which are attributes that demonstrate he is capable of doing far more than just web-slinging. Jason Momoa is perfect as Yujiro Hanma, the Ogre, the world's strongest being, whose sadistic ability to hurt people, combined with the terror he inspires, creates the ultimate villain that warriors have always feared going up against. One reason why I am excited about this adaptation is because it commits itself to the source materials' extreme violence and extreme mental anguish, and illustrates how fighters go to such extremes to develop the mental toughness and refine their techniques to the point at which their bodies either fail or are rebuilt stronger than before based solely upon their own willpower.
