⚠️ REVIEW CONTÉM SPOILERS – BACKROOMS: UM NÃO-LUGAR ⚠️ Eu saí do cinema em completo choque. Para quem não conhece, Backrooms nasceu de uma creepypasta famosa da internet e foi expandida por Kane Parsons em uma série de curtas que transformaram corredores amarelos aparentemente comuns em um dos cenários mais perturbadores do terror moderno. O filme acompanha Clark, um vendedor de móveis fracassado, solitário e afundado em problemas pessoais, que descobre uma passagem misteriosa em sua loja para uma dimensão infinita composta por corredores, salas e ambientes familiares, mas completamente errados. Quando ele desaparece, sua terapeuta, Mary, entra nesse lugar para tentar encontrá-lo. O que mais me chamou atenção não foram os monstros. Foi a sensação constante de desconforto e afinidade. Os Backrooms são um lugar que parece familiar, mas ao mesmo tempo impossível. Quanto mais os personagens caminham, mais surge aquele medo de nunca mais conseguir voltar. E isso funciona muito bem. Mas a grande sacada do filme, pelo menos para mim, é que os Backrooms não são apenas um espaço físico. Eles parecem absorver pensamentos, traumas, medos, ressentimentos e partes da personalidade das pessoas. É como se cada personagem carregasse seus próprios “Backrooms mentais”. Por isso, interpretei muitas das criaturas e situações como manifestações do inconsciente, do ego e das sombras dos personagens. Especialmente tudo o que envolve Clark e sua incapacidade de lidar com seus fracassos, arrependimentos e dores. O filme me lembrou bastante Aniquilação em alguns aspectos. Não pela história, mas pela ideia de um lugar que transforma as pessoas e passa a recriá-las de forma imperfeita. Muita gente provavelmente vai achar o filme lento, estranho ou até entediante. Mas eu acredito que esse não é um filme para ser apenas entendido. É um filme para ser sentido. Ele provoca desconforto, ansiedade, estranheza, tristeza e reflexão.
