Director Christophe Gans has confirmed that the monsters were played by dancers and acrobats in prosthetic makeup like in the first Silent Hill (2006). Even in instances where the monster would end up being partially or entirely computer generated, a dancer would still be used on set as reference. Giulia Pelagatti plays both the Armless creatures, the Spider Lady and one of the nurses.
