Murder hornets, also known as Asian giant hornets, are one of the biggest threats to honeybee hives. They don’t just sting—they actually decapitate bees with their powerful jaws. A few of these hornets can destroy an entire hive in just a couple of hours, which is terrifying for beekeepers. Honeybees can’t really fight back because hornets are stronger and hardly feel bee stings. Their strategy is simple: attack the hive, kill the bees, and take the bodies to feed their young. But in some places, like Japan, honeybees have developed a clever trick. They swarm a hornet and heat it up until it dies. It’s brutal, but it shows how animals constantly find new ways to survive.
